The Bolinao Tourism Office has recorded 744,430 tourist arrivals in 2024, 17 percent higher than the 635,935 in 2023.

Of the total, about 511,846 were day tourists while 232,584 were overnight tourists.

Bulk of the tourists were from Ilocos Region at 249,175, followed by Central Luzon, 84,829; National Capital Region, 67,719; Calabarzon, 15,359; and Cordillera Administrative Region, 13,255.

The peak season in the town was recorded in April, which attracted about 121,411 tourists.

Bolinao is known for its stunning beaches, scenic waterfalls, caves, and rock formations, among others.

The Bolinao Falls is the top destination, with a total of 148,902 visitors last year, said Senior Tourism Operations Officer Mary de Guzman in an interview Thursday.

It was followed by Balingasay River, 144,660 visitors; Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, 85,884; Patar White Beach, 65,023; Bolinao Caves, 49,990 visitors: Camp Puor, 13,849; and River Village, 3,118 visitors.

“The increased tourist arrivals is also attributed to the active marketing and promotions through social media platforms showcasing tourist attractions our town can offer and improved infrastructure providing access and hassle-free travel to our tourists,” de Guzman said.

De Guzman said they target an additional one million tourists this year.

To further boost tourist arrivals, the local government has embark on various projects such as the ongoing construction of the convention center, the public market, the Bolinao domestic airport and bridge connecting the mainland to Santiago Island,” she added. (PNA)
