ABS-CBN News journalist Raphael Bosano goes one-on-one with the current undersecretary of the Department of Health (DOH), Dr. Maria Rosario Vergeire, sharing her life beyond dealing with the country’s pandemic crisis this Sunday (March 17) as part of the Women’s Month feature of “Tao Po.”

Dr. Vergeire is notably known as one of the forefronts during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic—reassuring the public amid the medical crisis and providing solutions to stopping the dreaded spread of the virus. Eventually, her efforts helped usher the country into the ‘new normal.’ But beyond her role as an official for DOH and among the faces of the national pandemic response, she shares her life beyond her sworn profession as a dedicated family woman.

Alongside Vergeire’s inspiring journey, get a glimpse of the life behind a certified furmom as Kabayan Noli de Castro shares the story of Arizza Dungca, who considers her 183 cats, 22 dogs, and one wild boar as her children.

Beyond her profound love for her pets, she also channels it into her advocacy as an animal rescuer, where she has converted her room in her home into a makeshift ICU ward for rescued animals with serious conditions.

Bernadette Sembrano then goes into a sweet tooth escapade as she meets with a house helper-turned-head baker, Janet Escuro. Not only will she try out Janet’s delectable treats, but Bernadette will also showcase her road to success—from being the children’s caretaker of renowned pastry chef Heny Sison and imparting his knowledge to her to becoming a baker.
