Honoring the Virgin Mary and the Padul-ong Festival of Borongan, Eastern Samar, Binibining 28, Gabrielle Basiano appeared like a living painting of the Blessed Mother in her national costume.
It is a mythical presentation of how the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary was mysteriously transported from Borongan to Portugal. The aforementioned costume was designed by Kevin Batino and Jevin Salaysay.
The photo is among the 39 other national costumes that showcase the uniqueness and creativity of the candidates with the help of local fashion creatives.
It is being exhibited in a 7-feet-tall installation at the Farmers Plaza from July 4 until July 15, and will be moved to Gateway Mall from July 16 until the grand coronation night.
The display presents the images shot by Saldaña and Owen Reyes at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Quezon City, with the ladies styled by Patrick Henry Mergano and Macky Combe.
Just like in the glam shot photo exhibit, Araneta City will soon power each national costume photo with augmented reality (AR) technology to bring the portraits to life. Exhibit viewers simply need to download the UniteAR app on their smartphones, open the AR camera on the app, and scan the QR code on any of the panels to see the Binibini in motion as they rock their national costumes.
The national costume fashion show of Binibining Pilipinas 2022 will be held at the New Frontier Theater on July 16, 3 PM. And tickets are available on ticketnetonline.
Gabrielle Basiano is a 27-year-old stunner and was the Bb. Pilipinas 2021 first runner up. She won the Best in Long Gown award with her Perla gown, where she served Cher realness with the hood detail, which caught the attention of the netizens. This year, she vies to win one of the Binibining Pilipinas crowns.
