The Northern Samar provincial government has unveiled two new tour circuits in addition to the four existing ones that offer scenic tourist views around the province.

The two new offerings, fun farm tour and seafood tour, are designed to explore the vibrant agricultural landscape and innovative farming practices in Northern Samar, the provincial government said on Monday.

The fun farm tour covers the towns of Mondragon, Silvino Lubos, San Roque and Pambujan.

The areas are rich in agricultural bounty and can offer garden-to-table food tasting experiences, farming and food processing experiential tours, as well as homestays.

Meanwhile, the seafood tour covers the towns of San Jose and Rosario, noted for their tasty mud crabs, fresh catch of fish, spider shells (sahang), squid, shrimp and other exquisite seafood.

The seafood tour also offers diving, fishing, food processing and an ocean-to-table food tasting experience.

“The development and promotion of tourism circuits is only one of the many initiatives of the provincial government under Governor Edwin Ongchuan to foster tourism, livelihood, and economic development in Northern Samar,” the local government said in a statement.

Earlier, the provincial government introduced the Balicuatro Island hopping tour around the towns of San Antonio, Capul, San Vicente, and Allen; co-tour of Lavezares and Biri; river cruise in the towns of Catubig, Las Navas and Laoang; and the Pacific tour of the towns of Palapag, Mapanas, Gamay and Lapinig, which all face the Pacific Ocean.

Northern Samar wants to become a prime diving destination in Eastern Visayas with its expansive seas, coastal wonders and rich marine biodiversity.

Located on the third largest island in the Philippines and surrounded by the San Bernardino Strait, Samar Sea and the Pacific Ocean, Northern Samar is home to 24 towns.

Except for four towns, the rest are coastal areas, including tourist favorites Biri, Capul, San Antonio and San Vicente islands. (PNA)
