Nine towns in this province have received PHP15.3 million worth of modern ambulances to bolster their response to emergencies, a top official said Wednesday.
“The vehicles will be designated to the rural health units, which will also manage its operation,” Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza said in a statement.
Mendoza led the turnover of the vehicles to the local chief executives with their respective municipal health officers on Tuesday afternoon at the provincial capital compound in Barangay Amas here.
Each ambulance costs PHP 1.7 million as funded by the provincial government.
The recipient local government units (LGUs) are the towns of Aleosan, Arakan, Carmen, Kabacan, Libungan, Magpet, Matalam, Pigcawayan, and President Roxas.
“Health is one of my top priorities and these ambulances will augment our health initiatives such as medical-dental outreach programs and vaccination campaigns in remote villages,” the governor said. (PNA)
