Domestic tourists increased by 5.11 percent to 813,625, while foreign arrivals rose by 2.21 percent to 60,525.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees of meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions soared by 77 percent to 279,200. Peak arrivals were recorded in October, November, and December, driven largely by the annual MassKara Festival held every October.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Greg Gasataya said he recently met with the City Tourism Council to seek stakeholder feedback on improving support for the sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInsights from the council members help us make our tourism better for everyone,\u201d Gasataya said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Harold Geronimo, vice president for public relations and media affairs at Megaworld and a council member, welcomed the city government\u2019s focus on tourism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has a ripple effect on local businesses, hotels, and local artisans. We are excited about the programs and eager to contribute ideas to support our city\u2019s progress,\u201d Geronimo said.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that challenges remain in transportation costs and infrastructure, but city officials and private partners are collaborating to address these concerns.
