This versatile ingredient can be used in diverse dishes. <\/p>\n<p>It is rich in nutrients whether in its silken, soft, firm, or extra firm forms. It likewise contains protein, all essential amino acids, and is low in saturated fat and cholesterol. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost practice the no-meat tradition to adhere Fridays of Lent,\u201d he started.  \u201cI just wish to share an alternative item to those who still want to enjoy a savory recipe,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p>With this in mind, Chef Byron Francisco, the President and CEO of Pantree Food Concepts, Inc., shared his guidelines on how to make delightful servings of Spicy Salted Egg Tofu.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1284\" height=\"1309\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-247032\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate.jpg 1284w, https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate-294x300.jpg 294w, https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate-1004x1024.jpg 1004w, https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate-768x783.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate-98x100.jpg 98w, https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate-696x710.jpg 696w, https:\/\/pageone.zyndk8.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Chef-Byron-Francisco-Benilde-Culinary-Arts-graduate-1068x1089.jpg 1068w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1284px) 100vw, 1284px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Culinary Arts graduate from the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), whose specialties range from hot kitchen items to pastries, believes that plant-based still makes for a delicious choice. <\/p>\n<p>Chef Byron trained at the kitchens of leading hospitality brands, to include Discovery Shores Boracay and EDSA Shangri-La Manila.<\/p>\n<p>He is a certified National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Trainer and Instructor for Cookery and Baking and Pastry.<\/p>\n<p>Chef Byron likewise served as the program head for Hospitality Management and Program Director for Culinary Arts at Global City Innovative College and culinary instructor at his alma mater under the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management (SHRIM).<\/p>\n<h3>Spicy Salted Egg Tofu by Chef Byron Francisco<\/h3>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<p>1 pc Tofu, cut into batons<br \/>\n1 pc Egg, beaten<br \/>\nSalt<br \/>\nBlack pepper, ground<br \/>\nPaprika<br \/>\nAll-purpose flour, for dredging<br \/>\nCamote powder, for final coating<br \/>\nCooking oil<\/p>\n<h3>Sauce and Garnish<\/h3>\n<p>2 tbsp cooking oil<br \/>\n1 pc Red onion, minced<br \/>\n1 pc Bird\u2019s eye chili, minced<br \/>\n1 pc Green finger chili, minced<br \/>\n1 tbsp Sugar, white<br \/>\n1 cup Chicken stock<br \/>\n\u00bc cup Salted egg powder or 2 pcs salted egg yolk<br \/>\nBasil leaves for garnish<\/p>\n<h3>Procedure<\/h3>\n<p>1. Season tofu batons with salt, pepper, and paprika in a bowl.<br \/>\n2. Dredge in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and roll in camote powder. Repeat this process twice until you achieve thick breading.<br \/>\n3. Fry in oil under medium heat until light brown. Remove from pan.<br \/>\n4. Increase the temperature of the oil to high and re-fry tofu until golden brown. Set aside.<br \/>\n5. For the sauce, saut\u00e9 onion and chili peppers in oil for 2 minutes. Add sugar and mix until well incorporated.<br \/>\n6. Dissolve salted egg powder in chicken stock and add to the mixture. Reduce until sauce thickens. Set aside.<br \/>\n7. Fry basil leaves in oil until translucent and drain.<br \/>\n8. To assemble, pour spicy salted egg sauce on a plate, then place the fried tofu.
