A Filipino-American visual artist collaborated with sneaker company, Vans, to design footwear honoring his Pinoy roots and heritage.<\/p>\n

California-based DJ Javier, a visual artist and designer, announced that his collection with Vans is now available worldwide.<\/p>\n

The shoe company introduced Javier as a multi-disciplinary artist known for his bold artwork.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe partnered with him on a pack of silhouettes that honors his roots and intertwines Filipino symbolism with SoCal culture,\u201d it shared on its Instagram post.<\/p>\n

\u201cSoCal\u201d is short for Southern California, and is famous for its homegrown surf and skateboard culture.<\/p>\n

Javier also took to Instagram to share the exciting collaboration, \u201cThis project represents Filipino culture, identity, and Filipino people. It represents the immigrant story.\u201d<\/p>\n
